I am a high school soccer coach; therefore, I must renew my CPR certification every couple of years. Most of it was “Yeah, yeah…30 compressions—two breaths—30 compressions, etc.” However, the instructor made this statement that got my attention: “60% of cardiac arrest victims do not receive the lifesaving help that could have saved their life because bystanders stand there and do nothing because they don’t know how or they are simply scared to get involved.”
As I have talked more and more to Christians regarding sharing Jesus with others, the common response is that they rarely or never do so. The main reasons are usually, “I don’t because I am not sure how, I’m afraid I will be asked a question I cannot answer, or I am simply afraid to do so.”
If I ever have cardiac arrest, I desperately hope that they bystanders around me get involved and don’t just stand there and watch me die. And as you think about people in your life who don’t know the truths about the love of God, who are hurting, are in dark places, and are desperate for something/someone to “save” them; wouldn’t you WANT to get involved rather than just be a bystander who doesn’t?

A Fall Open Forum Series will be happening three Tuesday evenings in a row: October 27th, November 4th, and November 11th 7:00-8:15pm at Ristretto Coffee Studio. Open Forums are safe, small-group environments where spiritually curious adults can ask any question without judgment. Incredible food and drinks are provided.
Formation Group
Have you ever wanted to talk to your co-workers, friends or even your wife or kids about something you deeply believe, but you don’t because you aren’t exactly sure how to go about it? Maybe you are fearful that you’d be asked a question that you could not answer or explain. You are NOT alone in this. I am leading a Formation course starting Tuesday evenings, September 15th and this may something that could help equip you to share Jesus more clearly and confidently.
